My name is Keith Thompson. I am the Director of ERP Applications at Denver Health.
As our director of ERP, I’m responsible for the Lawson system and now I’m migrating to Infor CloudSuite along with our PYXIS supply cabinets, some ancillary support systems such as MHC AP Automation, as well as Kaufman Hall, our budgeting system.
Denver Health is, as the name implies, in the city of Denver. We are the safety net hospital for the city and county of Denver. Our last number I saw was about 525 beds plus a number of outlying and school-based clinics. We have just over 7,000 in FTE and another probably 6,000 in contractors that support us.
We have been on Lawson in a private cloud since 2000. There are a lot of advantages to the cloud, mostly in that we don’t have to maintain the skill set or the resource depth to keep up with the technology. We decided to stay with Infor and move to CloudSuite for a number of reasons.
One is our investment in the existing technology. It’s not so far of a leap to the new version of the new platform. Our use of IPA, Infor Process Automation, EDI, mobile supply chain, are all similar if not enhanced. And we have a lot of knowledge both from a functional perspective and a technical perspective. We didn’t want to lose and start over. We received an RFP, a request for proposal, from four different partners.
And RPI was selected based on committee feedback. They were the most compliant with our bid request and the best value. They were not the lowest bid, but they best fit the approach we wanted to take and what we were asking for. As the project got started, RPI was on site working with our team to begin the discovery process and figure out what it is that we really wanted to do.
They brought in senior people that our folks related to and were able to work with easily. We’re working with RPI in multiple capacities. They have a strong presence with their project management team and they have a good functional presence with their leads across the different areas we’re working on.
The RPI folks have been approachable, they have listened well to us and have been responsive to our questions and when we’ve seen things that we want to do a little bit differently, they’ve listened and worked with us to figure out how to make that happen.
The RPI functional consultants have worked very closely with our end users and our business leaders and the relationship has worked out very well. Our teams really appreciate the expertise, the approachability and the style of RPI Consultants.
