Today I want to review how to add columns to a view. First, log-in to your management console and select the View option on the left pane. Today we’re going to go ahead and create a new View so I can show you from scratch. Go ahead and open up that View, and the first thing you want to do is come down here to the bottom where it says Preview. This button here, as you can see says Columns, and that’s where we can go to easily add or remove columns that you want defaulted in your View. One important thing to note is that if you want the columns to be named something different than Field 1, Field 2, Field 3, etc., you can go in here and rename them like so. For example, we’ll just do Last Name, First Name, and student ID. The way to add or remove columns easily is just this checkbox.

Now one thing I know people like to add and take away is take away Version Control and then add the Workflow Queue, which it looks like it already defaulted to. Okay, go ahead and click Okay, and as you can see that updated the column names there. Another way to add or remove fields or I should say quickly remove fields, is if you just click and drag them off. Like I said, one thing important to know is to name these fields first before you create any filters, because if you go to the Filter tab … Let us do New Filter, you can see they default to those names as well, whereas if you did not name them in the first step these would still say Field 1, Field 2, Field 3, if you created the filter before you named them in the first step. That concludes this short video on how to add or remove columns to Views. Thanks for watching.
